Aim: At the end of 5 sessions to produce a 12 minute sermon on a passage from the Bible

SESSION 1    Sunday 22nd January

10.30-11.15     What does the text say? 

11.30-12.15    Use of language: metaphor, simile, alliteration, rhetoric etc

12.15-1.00    1 minute talk on something that struck you from the passage

Homework

Give out a biblical text to work on through other sessions

2 minute talk on what your text says in the next session.

SESSION 2    Sunday 26th February

11.30-12.15    Authenticity/Integrity, tone, pace, pitch, body language, eye contact etc

12.15-1.00    2 minute talk on what did your text say.

Homework: 5 minute talk on what did your text mean then.

SESSION 3    Sunday 19th March

10.30-11.15    What does the text mean now?

11.30-12.15    Illustration, culture, story, heart (preaching the OT?)

12.15-1.00    5 minutes talk on what did your text mean

Homework: 8 minute talk on what does your text mean now?

SESSION 4    Sunday 30th April

10.30-11.15    How do we say it? (Structure, manuscript, shitty first draft)

11.30-1.00    8 minute talks on what does your text mean now.

Homework: 12 minute sermon on your text

SESSION 5    Sunday 21st May

12 minute sermons in 3’s w/video plus a coach and actor
